Five Minutes To Success
While some success in life is spontaneous, success never comes automatically if one is thinking of consistent success.
Spontaneous processes do not distinguish between what is good and bad, and anyone who depends upon randomness to bring him success will find the the long run that what he desires has eluded him - because it also brings him failures.
One has to develop a strategy if one has to see consistent success. This strategy has to be with him all his life, with revisions and changes from time to time. Such a strategy is made up of several core components, that never change, and then several secondary components that depend upon the core components.
One of the core components is time and promptness. A person who responds promptly to his associates, clients and contacts is esteemed highly. Similarly, a person who reaches meetings, conferences, and personal appointments in time is also esteemed highly. What is more, over a long period such a person is likely to attract a loyal clientele.
The main problem main people find is is the busy life. Often they are able to leave only at the last moment. Then they get stuck somewhere and reach late. I have found that some people are able to beat this problem most of the time by a small technique. These people simply keep their watches 5 minutes ahead of time. A watch running five minutes fast, or in advance of real time, does not look like much but often good things come in small and unnoticeable packages.
It is the same here. It is based upon the observation that often 60 to 80% cases of delay are of less than five minutes. Thus if one’ watch is 5 minutes fast, one is able to reach 60 to 80% of appointments in time. The rest will get solved because of the habit this develops. A person who consciously tries to reach a place in time will find in the long run that he is able to control his life consciously in such a manner that he is able to improve upon what his watch prompts him to do.
Five minutes is a small segment of time, but those 5 minutes can mean a lot to you in the long run. Try it today itself. I have tried it, and never regretted it.
